Programs for Schools and Organizations
At Interactive Discovery, we partner with schools, community organizations, healthcare providers, and charities to support the emotional well-being of children, teens, families, educators, and caregivers.
Every community has different strengths, challenges, and goals. We work closely with each partner to develop customized workshops, groups, counseling services, and trainings that are trauma-informed, developmentally responsive, and culturally aware. Our programs combine evidence-based practices with creative and experiential approaches that make learning meaningful and accessible.
Our Partnership Process
We begin each partnership with a needs assessment. This may include conversations with administrators, staff, parents, caregivers, and, when appropriate, students. Together, we:
Explore the community’s cultural and developmental context
Identify social-emotional, behavioral, and wellness needs
Clarify the organization’s priorities and goals
Develop tailored, evidence-based programming
Consider how the program can remain relevant, responsive, and sustainable
Our School and Community Partnerships
We have collaborated with Brooklyn schools including PS 107, PS 321, Allied Achievement, Berkeley Carroll School, and Essence Middle School. Our school-based services have included:
In-school counseling
Workshops and professional development for educators and staff
Parent and caregiver programs
Initiatives designed to strengthen school-home connections
We have also partnered with healthcare providers and nonprofit organizations, including Tribeca Pediatrics, Slope Pediatrics, Catholic Charities, and the Jewish Board of Family and Children Services. These partnerships allow us to support families across the different settings and systems that are part of their lives.
Why We Do This Work
Interactive Discovery’s mission is to make mental health support accessible, inclusive, and integrated into the everyday lives of children and families. Through our community programs, we aim to:
Build resilience in children, teens, parents, and caregivers
Equip educators with practical, trauma-informed strategies
Create inclusive spaces for connection and meaningful dialogue
Provide prevention-focused, family-centered, and culturally responsive support
Our goal is to help communities create environments where people feel connected, empowered, and able to thrive.
Program Offerings
Community Programs for Students
We offer community programs that support the social, emotional, and developmental needs of students. Through engaging groups and workshops, we help children and teens build social skills, strengthen emotional resilience, navigate anxiety and life transitions, and develop meaningful peer connections. Our programs are trauma-informed, developmentally responsive, and designed to create supportive spaces where students can grow in confidence, connection, and self-understanding.
Workshops for Educators & School Staff
We offer workshops for educators and school staff that focus on supporting student wellbeing while strengthening the skills and resilience of those who work with them. Our trainings provide trauma-informed strategies for understanding child and adolescent development, supporting emotional regulation, fostering positive relationships, and creating supportive environments. These workshops are designed to be engaging, collaborative, and responsive to the real challenges educators face in their work with students and families.
Parent & Caregiver Workshops
We offer workshops for parents and caregivers that provide guidance, support, and practical tools for navigating the challenges of raising children and adolescents. These workshops focus on topics such as understanding child development, supporting emotional regulation, strengthening attachment and communication, and helping children manage anxiety, social challenges, and life transitions. Our approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, creating a supportive space where caregivers can gain insight, build confidence, and connect with other families.
