Workplace Wellness

At Interactive Discovery, we recognize that a thriving workplace depends on the well-being of its people. Our Holistic Wellness initiatives go beyond traditional employee support to foster environments where individuals and teams can grow, adapt, and sustain balance.

We provide organizational consultation, psychoeducational workshops, and tailored support services designed to address the full spectrum of employee well-being—mental, emotional, and physical. By integrating strategies that enhance communication, reduce stress, and build resilience, we help organizations create cultures of care that directly impact productivity, morale, and long-term success.

Our approach is both preventive and responsive. We offer workshops on topics such as stress management, mindfulness, effective communication, burnout prevention, and fostering inclusive team dynamics. We also consult with leadership to strengthen workplace culture, improve staff support systems, and integrate sustainable wellness practices into organizational policies.

The goal of our Workplace Wellness program is to empower employees and leaders alike to feel supported, connected, and equipped to navigate challenges—ultimately cultivating a healthier and more resilient workplace community.

Zest Nutrition

“In my practice I am a dedicated advocate of food as medicine treatment and prevention approaches. I strongly believe in a healing power of food and promote sustainable life and nutrition changes, rather than dieting and calorie counting. I love working directly with people, sharing my knowledge, and witnessing their successful transformations.

PRIOR TO CONSULTATION:

Clients will fill out a record form that reflects their medical history and current health concerns.

In order to provide clients with outmost effective nutrition services it is very helpful if clients bring their most recent full blood work that includes: complete blood count, basic metabolic panel, blood enzyme test, lipoprotein panel, liver panel, Hemoglobin A1C, fibrinogen, homocysteine, DHEA, estradiol, and TSH. Some labs can measure Omega-3 Fatty Acids Index, which relates to the risk for cardiovascular diseases and may be useful.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE CONSULTATION:

Initial consultation includes dietary assessment of your eating habits, nutritional needs, actual and potential nutrient deficiencies and risk factors associated with them. We will discuss your current health concerns and establish strategies towards sustainable nutrition and lifestyle changes. We will indicate your short and long term nutrition goals, while taking into consideration your food preferences, cooking abilities, accessibility, budget and time constraints. You will receive a suggested “meal plan” to meet your dietary needs and address health concerns.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE CONSULTATION:

Within next three days after the initial consultation you will receive summary of what we discussed. The summary will include recommendations and strategies what will help you to navigate towards the established goals. I will follow up over the email or telephone within a week to answer any other questions or concerns. In person follow up appointment is recommended within two weeks after the initial visit.

Retreats at Interactive Discovery

Interactive Discovery recognizes that professionals in various fields, such as healthcare, education, crisis response, advocacy, and social activism, often face the risk of experiencing 'burnout' or 'fatigue' due to the demanding nature of their work and the weight of responsibility associated with addressing social, emotional, and physical challenges. Some professionals may also be at risk of burnout due to repeated exposure to trauma, both on an individual and community level.

Our retreats are thoughtfully designed to cater to the unique needs of these groups. We provide a space where participants can come together, form a supportive community, and find solace among peers who share similar experiences. Our primary aim is to offer a comfortable environment where participants can unwind and tap into their inner resilience to promote overall well-being. Our retreat programs incorporate experiential self-care strategies that can be applied in daily life, along with reflective activities aimed at enhancing awareness and promoting sustainability and personal and professional satisfaction. Our retreats may encompass various activities such as mindfulness and meditation practices, nutritional consultation, cooking classes, creative arts, yoga, trauma exposure education, team-building exercises, music and dance, humor, play, and psychoeducational workshops.

When we refer to professional 'burnout' or 'fatigue,' we are talking about the cumulative impact of stress on both the mind and body. It occurs when the energy expended in our work is not adequately replenished, leading to feelings of exhaustion, stagnation, or even hopelessness in our professional and personal lives.

Vicarious Trauma Exposure, on the other hand, is the toll taken on our mental and physical well-being when we witness the trauma or loss experienced by others. This exposure can trigger our own personal and community trauma or loss, resulting in a range of emotional and behavioral responses, including feelings of helplessness, hypervigilance, exhaustion, and more.

To determine whether you are experiencing general professional burnout or a vicarious trauma response, consider the following questions:

  1. Am I regularly exposed to the trauma, loss, or suffering of others in my work?

  2. Do I have personal traumas or losses that may be triggered by my work or work environment?

  3. Do I strongly identify with three or more of the signs of trauma exposure mentioned above?

If you answered affirmatively to two or more of these questions, you may be experiencing vicarious trauma.

We also offer retreats tailored for corporations and organizations seeking to promote wellness, sustainability, effective communication, and stress reduction among their employees. These retreats aim to enhance the sense of connection and satisfaction within corporate teams, positively impacting both work and personal lives. Our programs are customized based on your team's specific needs and workplace culture, incorporating activities that engage both analytical and creative thinking, contributing to overall wellness. Potential program components include stress reduction, team building, communication strategies, creative arts-based learning, and mindfulness.
