Jasmin Sowell-Spears, LMSW

Jasmin Sowell-Spears is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) whose practice is rooted in a passion for whole-child development and the belief that growth happens when we honor the interconnectedness of mind, body, and environment. She works individually and in groups with children and adolescents, offering intuitive, stage-of-life–aligned therapy that helps young people process identity, mental health, and social-emotional challenges.

Jasmin's theoretical orientation is primarily psychodynamic -- she focuses on emotional processes, relational patterns, and how past experiences influence present functioning -- with a strong integration of family-systems thinking and child/adolescent-focused modalities, including play therapy. She brings a trauma-informed lens to treatment and ensures that her clients leave with both insight and practical strategies that can build resilience. Using these skills and modalities, Jasmin has successfully supported youth with anxiety, ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, and various mood disorders.

Much of Jasmin's professional experience has been shaped by years in community schools serving underserved populations, where she combined therapeutic insight with leadership in youth programming, student affairs, and school-wide systems. She brings this dual perspective—clinical and organizational—to ensure that both young people and the adults around them feel seen, equipped, and supported.

Jasmin holds a Master of Social Work from Fordham University and a Master of Public Administration from Baruch College. A proud U.S. Army Veteran, she resides in Long Island with her husband and three children. While she calls Long Island home, she is a Brooklyn girl at heart—born and raised in Brownsville, New York.
