Our workshops are focused on various topics of interest that help parents and teachers gain greater insight and knowledge about the children they care for. Below are brief descriptions of some workshops that we have run successfully in the past. We can also tailor workshops in response to individual/group needs.
CREATIVE ARTS THERAPY STUDIO FOR TEENS

This workshop is designed for adults to: experience how art-making nurtures mindfulness; learn creative arts techniques for grounding in daily life; explore and share in a supportive, non-judgmental space. This workshop is designed for parents of children ages 2-10. We'll provide guidance for parents who struggle with managing their children's behavior and are looking for alternative strategies. We'll focus on strengthening your relationship with your child, preventing negative behaviors before they occur and dealing with behavior concerns in the moment.
CHILDHOOD SEPARATION ANXIETY WORKSHOP
This workshop is designed for school counselors, teachers, mental health professionals, parents and pediatricians. It provides an overview of separation anxiety in child development along with tips for prevention and treatment. We discuss ways to plan and prepare for a child’s transition to school, encourage effective coping techniques, discuss the importance of early intervention, and recommended children’s books.
THE ATTENTION SECTOR WORKSHOP
This workshop focuses on understanding the core symptoms of ADHD, and distinguishing children with and without ADHD. We discuss possible causes of ADHD, the impact of ADHD on families, and review general treatment principles (both with and without the use of medication). We also provide specific recommendations for parents and other professionals in home management, school management, and reduction of family stress.
LIVING WITH AND DEALING WITH ANXIETY AND KEEPING IT AT BAY WORKSHOP
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, anxiety, in its various forms, has life time prevalence of approximately 28.8% of the population. We discuss its etiology and impact, and ways to deal with numerous forms of anxiety. We explore both holistic and traditional interventions and provide specific techniques that can be used to deal with and reduce anxiety.
PDD AND ITS COMPLICATED AND DIVERSE PRESENTATION WORKSHOP
We explore how Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) can manifest itself in various forms. We discuss the assessment and intervention process, as well as different ways to respond to a child who is on the autistic spectrum. We also review various educational options and ways to assist families to manage their child’s needs and cope with stress.
