Dylan Lawson, Intern

Dylan Lawson is a Mental Health and Wellness Counseling Intern from the NYU Steinhardt Master’s program. He joins our ID team with many years of experience working with adolescents, children, and young adults on a variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, mood and behavioral disorders, executive functioning challenges, learning disabilities, substance use, neurodevelopmental disorders, 2e (twice exceptionality), psychiatric, and personality disorders.

Over the years, Dylan has shown a strong commitment to the mental health field working with children with learning differences and mental health challenges as well as supporting families at Quad Preparatory School; a Manhattan school serving 2e children. He first joined Quad as a founding staff member, serving as a paraprofessional to one of the school's first nine students. Most recently Dylan has served as the Assistant Director of Psychosocial Integration, supervising and training a team of professionals in supporting the social and emotional development of over 115 students. In addition to his work at Quad, Dylan co-facilitated multimodal therapy groups at High Focus Centers for five years, where he earned an official Certificate of Completion in Group Leadership from the Center for Group Studies. Dylan's additional experience in the mental health field includes his work with Bergen's Promise Inc. where he provided case management and advocacy to at-risk youth. Dylan’s warmhearted, open-minded, and integrative approach fosters meaningful therapeutic relationships with clients. He has a great sense of humor, loves animals, and enjoys playing music, snowboarding, skateboarding, and competitive video gaming.
